Dental Benefits

Direct reimbursement. In-network rates. Denta.

Employer money for dental care, agreed rates at participating dentists, and one product that brings them together.

Pay for dental care. Get an in-network rate. That is Denta.

You need dental benefits to hire and take care of your team. You do not need a new insurance vocabulary. Denta brings direct reimbursement and participating dentists’ agreed rates together in one product.

Why combine the two?

Direct reimbursement puts employer money toward employees’ eligible dental care. A network rate lowers the agreed price at participating dentists. Each does a different job. Together, they help a dental benefit go further.

The ADA recognizes direct reimbursement as a dental benefit model. Denta adds the product experience: agreed rates, the Denta Card and the administration needed to connect a team’s benefit to care.

Follow the money through one visit

Imagine a participating dentist’s regular price for an eligible treatment is $200. Its agreed Denta rate is $150. The employee has $1,000 of benefit remaining.

The eligible treatment uses $150 of the benefit, leaving $850. The employer funds the $150 and pays a $7.50 transaction fee. Membership is separate. These are illustrative prices, not a promise about a particular treatment or dentist.

The important distinction is between the price of care, the benefit used and Denta’s fee. You should be able to see all three.

What does Denta cost?

Network membership is $5/month, or $3/month for YC companies. Denta charges a 5% transaction fee on care paid through Denta. The employer also funds the care itself. See the cost guide for a breakdown of membership, care and fees.

A membership fee is not an insurance premium and does not buy unlimited treatment. Choose your team’s annual benefit and use the worked cost examples to model usage and total spending.

Where does the in-network rate apply?

At participating dentists, for services covered by their agreed rate schedule. Confirm the practice and treatment before the appointment. An agreed rate at one practice is not a promise about every dentist’s prices.

Your benefit documents explain access outside participating practices. Our network guide separates the right to use a benefit from the availability of a discounted rate.

What about tax treatment?

Employer dental benefits can receive favorable tax treatment when the arrangement and expenses meet the applicable requirements. Swiping a card does not, by itself, make a payment tax-free. The IRS employer fringe-benefit guide explains the rules and exceptions.

Denta handles the product experience around the benefit; your company still needs the right setup for its employees and owners.

What should your team expect?

An annual amount for eligible dental care. Agreed prices at participating dentists. A clear way to pay. Employees should know their remaining benefit and confirm their treatment estimate before care.

That is the reason to choose Denta. Use the employer cost guide to compare your own numbers.
